Usually I just post my poems on here as a plain text but this time I felt the urgent need to speak the words myself. Sorry in advance for my accent, I'm, as I already said, not a native English speaker. Thanks for listening anyways.
A tragedy
in four acts
Act one
A girl
meets a boy
She’s a
maid in despair
And he’s
her knight
In shining
white armor
The girl
has not experienced
Kindness in
what felt like years
So she can’t
help but
Blush all
the way home.
Act two
Fate is on
their side
The girl,
of course,
Closes
herself off
Because who
would love a torn heart?
Shattered
in pieces?
But the boy
does not give up
He makes
her laugh
Every time
she has a rough day
And every
time his eyes meet hers
She can
feel the world stop just for a second
While
sparks fly around the room
Act three
The boy has
to leave
He packs
his things up
The girl
still isn’t sure about her feelings
So she
decides to let him go
Although
she mourns
As he turns
his back to her
And goes,
off into a world
Without her
Act four
Shortly
after, the girl saw the boy again
A gaze was
shared
That felt
as if it lasted a hundred years and more
Unspoken
words between them
The years
pass by
And the
girl slowly learns
To be her
own hero
She
realizes she was truly in love
With the
boy
But he has
left
And maybe
she wasn’t ready
To be held
by a knight
When she
wasn’t a princess yet
However,
every year
When the
date of the day
When they
saw each other the last time
Draws
closer
The girl
can’t help but
Search for
his face in every crowd
And little
does she know,
The boy
does that, too
As they are
tragic lovers
Never meant
to be together
But still
bound by memory
And most of
all
Love.
Writing poetry helps me to find a life of my own. Find your place, too, whether it is drawing or singing or writing, everyone has a safe spot somewhere.
